Russell Brand Katy Perry Co-Stars In “The Money Pit” Remake?

The couple that works together, stays together. (Until, of course, one of them cheats…)
Soon-to-be spouses Russell Brand and Katy Perry aren’t set to wed until later this year, but the twosome are already reportedly eyeing their first project together as man and wife: Co-stars in a remake of the ’80s comedy The Money Pit.

The Snitch Circuit is abuzz with reports that the couple are in chats to accept the lead roles in a reimagining of the 1986 comedy, which starred Tom Hanks and Shelley Long as newlyweds lumbered with a house from hell.
“Russ is a big fan of ’80s comedy movies and loves the idea of updating The Money Pit,” squeals an unidentified insider with access to Brand and Katy. “The idea was originally to cast a big name actress for the female lead but the idea of having Katy in the movie might just work. She’s very keen on starting an acting career.”
It’s shaping up to be a busy 2011 for the new Mr. & Mrs. Brand, while Russell remains busy filming scenes for the upcoming remake of Dudley Moore’s comedy classic, Arthur, Katy will embark on her “California Dream Tour” next spring.
