Katy Perry went head-to-head with Simon Cowell when she was a guest judge on The X Factor.
But the singer has a lot of respect for the TV and music mogul.
'I love the way he doesn't even try to hide it when he thinks a contestant's rubbish,' Katy tells Now.
'People have opinions about his technique but he's usually right and that's why he's the most powerful man in the music industry.'
Katy, 25, loved working with Simon, 51, and Cheryl Cole, 27.
'Simon's a fatherly figure for Cheryl and although they argue, he thinks a lot of her,' observes the new Mrs Russell Brand.
'I think deep down Simon loves women who can stand up to him and he found that in me.
'He's got people running around after him all day, so when he finds someone a bit feisty I think he finds it a turn-on, especially when it's a woman.'
